A Letter from the Publisher
Hi, my name is Marlette Robinson, and I am proud to say I’m a Nail Tech. I’ve been licensed since 2000 after graduating from Atlanta Area Technical College in Atlanta, GA.
My inspiration to publish this magazine came when I realized there were very few publications dedicated solely to Nail Technicians. While there are countless magazines for hair, makeup, and fashion, there wasn’t anything created exclusively for Nail Techs—especially in the South. That realization sparked the foundation of Nail Design 101 Magazine Directory: an outlet, a community, and a support system for Nail Techs who share the same passion for the art we create and the clients we serve.
Why Nail Art?
Nail Art is so much more than polish and straight lines. It’s an expression of creativity with no boundaries. For me, it’s about connecting with my clients—talking with them, studying their hands, choosing the right nail shape, and then creating something unique that reflects their
personality. . My goal is always to introduce clients to something new and help them feel confident wearing any style or color—because nail services aren’t just beauty, they’re personal attention, a one-on-one 101 experience.
Why a Magazine?
As Nail Techs, we experience highs and lows in this
industry. Unlike Hair stylists, we don’t have many outlets to showcase our talents. Yes, we have nail shows and products, but not a true publication that uplifts, educates, and
celebrates us. That’s where Nail Design 101 Magazine
Directory comes in. This magazine is made by Nail Techs, for Nail Techs. It’s a place to share journeys, display artistry,
educate clients, and encourage one another. It’s proof that talent isn’t always just around the corner—it can be found anywhere and everywhere. I’m proud to be both a Nail Tech and the Publisher, bringing this vision to life.
Thank you for supporting and sharing in this journey with me. With love & creativity.
